This is for a little someone ... though it will be a while before she receives it because I am working on something else that needs to be sent with it.... There is really nothing better then initials and favorite animals!

Thundercats

Remember Ubers cousin James and his wife Ashley? You've seen them a few times before on my blog most recently from our Memorial Day weekend trip. What I don't think I've told you yet is that they are also expecting their first baby in January- we found out in May when we visited them but we were sworn to secrecy... BUT not only can I tell you they are expecting I can also tell you that they are also having a BOY!!!! How exciting is that? Uber and I are stoked that Baby MAC will have a cousin (2nd cousin?!) so close in age!
So notice the awesome Thundercats shirt James is sporting in the picture above... it got LOTS of attention on our day trip into Atlanta from all sorts of different grown men. (I should add here I didn't know and still don't really what the Thundercats are all about) ANYWAY I was brainstorming something fun to send up to them and thought it would be awesome to make the boys matching Thundercats onesies...
Yeah I am pretty thrilled with the outcome! And Uber is totally stoked about it so I'm pretty sure James will love it to!
Something else a little crafty... With Mums expert help I was able to make a bunch of double sided fleece washclothes for the baby I love having someone around who is willing to read the manual on your sewing machine and tell you how to do things.
20 washclothes for less than $5 ... can't beat that!

Lots more baby stuff to come! I know you are SO excited!

Happy Mothers Day...

Better late than never!
This was actually finished before mothers day ....barely... BUT it wasn't fired in time...
We had a girls night out a few weeks ago and we went to a paint your own pottery place so I finally painted a piece just for my Mum. I did it in the Portuguese Pottery style that Williams Sonoma carries (though it is apparently not available online anymore I have seen it in the stores recently) ... will I ever get over this style? Probably not and since I will never be able to afford it (or want a piece of pottery that expensive...) I am perfectly happy painting my own! In fact I am more happy painting my own! Now I just hope she REALLY wanted some for herself!

Super simple inside

I made up the peacock character because I couldn't find any more animals to copy and had one more spot to fill.... I think it looks pretty good though I will do it slightly different if I to it again. Other than that I stuck pretty close to the examples I could find. Just slight variations of the tree and bunny.

Hopefully she likes it... but if not it looks very nice on top of my fridge!!

Elephant Butt Face

Now that I have you attention... I have a new onesie design and I'm LOVING IT... seriously it's replaced the giraffe design as my favorite. Do you think people on etsy will be offended if I call it the Elephant Butt Face Onesie??! I rather like the name personally.

Front
Back
I printed this one up in turquoise per Ubers request. But like all my onesies you can chose a different color if you like.
I had been meaning to think up some new designs forever and a recent order finally got me thinking since I wanted to send a few things along with said order as a gift. I think the order is about a month late... oops... not my usual business practice I am all about getting things out ASAP. Hopefully I will be forgiven though since the baby isn't due yet and .... well because I am sending gifts!

For my Cousin

Look I can still craft!

I was supposed to teach my cousin how to do freezer paper stenciling when she was here but we sort of ran out of time doing things like visiting the beach and shopping instead. So I promised her I would make her a shirt and send it later.

She decided she wanted an owl so I drew up the pattern the last night she was here (while she was doing homework...ahem) and ended up cutting out two stencils at once since I had a feeling I would never want to go through the trouble a second time (at least I am learning). So I made one for me and one for her. They aren't exactly the same though just roughly.

The branch wraps around to the back of the shirt. I did mine in brown ink. My shirt had more ribbing then I realized so there is some splitting going on. I ended up digging the look though so I decided not to fix it and just let it do it's thing.
Corrie choose a pink shirt so I used black ink on her's.

I am really stoked with the design.
Hopefully she likes it! Hopefully I get it in the mail soon!!

And for all of you who don't live near the beach here is a dolphin picture for you from the beach this weekend, we are having gorgeous weather!! The dolphin is on the right. I think it's a bird on the left. I wish I had brought a better camera with me but this will have to do! I hope you are all enjoying your versions of spring.

I'm so lame...

Well if you are expecting a post full of exciting things that have been keeping me from being around here ... you will be sorely disappointed. I have nothing for you! I haven't been feeling well and my brother and my parents dog have been consuming all of my excess energy (not that that's been much... and I am pretty sure they wouldn't agree with me if you asked them)
Here's a few things from the last few weeks.
I bought a bunch of these shiny silver beads and decided to use them on a plain target v-neck that I never wear.
I think the problem is solved. The sparkle makes me want to wear it all the time. I have a few thousand more so we will see what else I decide needs some sparkle...
My etsy shop has been doing really well. Which I am incredibly thankful for... I just wish I had energy to make more things to restock it. I did however FINALLY get a few new things up in the shop today (it's all old to you it just took me FOREVER to get decent photographs). So there is now another owl pillow and the fish pillow is up. Also below is one of my barrel of monkey's onesies I had one ordered in red and I totally dig it so I made a second one for a friend who just had a baby.

We haven't been out to the beach much. Just a few quick trips because it is a little too cold right now. But here's a rather large jelly fish from a trip while some friends were here. Definatley the largest one I have seen on our beach... and here were a lot of them.

Beau and I took Brinkley for a short walk while Uber took a bike ride. We didn't let Brinkley off the leash since it was a little too cold for us to be be chasing him and getting wet... if he decided to be a crazy dog.

He won with beau though and yanked him a good ways out into the water...hahaha...

Other fun stuff if you haven't checked out my Aunts blog lately you need to. She is making some awesome stuff. She should be opening an Etsy store soon..... so cheer her on and maybe she will move faster!

better late than never...

I finally finished this growth chart for a little friend who is already 3 months old... How did that happen so quickly?! I'm not sure how much his mom reads the blog... so hope this isn't spoiling anything. He has a monkey themed room.

So the token monkey.

a new caterpillar...

and the totally fun new grasshopper and cat tails which I am totally digging. Hopefully I will be getting this in the mail tomorrow.... and I hope he doesn't have one already.

In love!

I received my sweater in the mail yesterday! It was made by my Auntie Sherie. I have to say though after receiving the product I have to change my previous answer about opening the shop... You should definitely NOT open a shop...
you SHOULD spend your life continuously supplying your niece with gorgeous sweaters. It's just the right thing to do.
And every one of them should come in equally gorgeous packaging. I mean does it get any better than having a beautiful bag to store my beautiful sweater in?!

Alright before any of you fly over here and kill me I will help her set up an etsy store so she can supply us all with beautiful things.... it may take awhile though...
ahem...

This one won't die on you... I promise.

It's a Goldfish!!! And I LOVE HIM!!

He's handpainted with amazing 100% wool felt hand sewn (of course). It kills me to cut into this felt it is so beautiful. But he is totally worth it!
He's for one of my small friends. I hope he likes him...he apparently likes fish... If not I may steal him back and hope he doesn't remember...because some day he will be bigger than me! (the boy not the fish)

I am already working on another one... who knows where it will go... maybe in the shop?!

Gifts for me!

Sherie sent me this guy for christmas. He is totally cracking me up.
This is what you expected right?!? I think his name is Bub... he's not sure about it though.
Gram sent me this. Totally digging it! She forgot to take a picture for her blog so I get to show you!!
It has been FREEZING here! Literally. All my plants are dead... moo. We recieved a care package (WOOT!) from some of our friends in St. Louis to help us get through.
Freaking scrumptious let me tell you!! He roasted it himself. And I fully plan to make him show me how to do this when we see him again. Better not tell me it's a family secret! Thank you guys!! I love it all!

P.S. John you can send me more anytime.
P.S.S Sherie I want something I can wear and show off! Please. How about a cardigan? Mum says you pull beatiful things out of your butt... so search around for me k?
