I really thought I had more to say.

My clematis are going crazy... definitely one of my favorite flowers... who know they could grow so well here!
I've been making bookmarks. I got an order from a girl at work for two for her mom, so I made 3 extra for the shop. I'm having a hard time not keeping them since they are so sparkly... MUCH better pictures are up in the shop... so go check them out. I will definitely be making more of these to keep!
Working on some cute packaging for things I hand deliver. This is my first try... I think the sticker needs to be smaller but other than that I'm digging it.

I was contacted yesterday by a local shop that is interested in having me rent space in their store... I'm not sure about the whole renting part. We are going to run by and check it out today so we will see. Either way it's nice to be contacted.

Our fourth... a little late

Ubers cousin and wife came down from Atlanta to visit over the holiday weekend. We had a blast showing them Florida since neither of them had been here before. We took them to the beach and found this adorable little guy! I'm totally going to have to try making one of these next time we are out!

Saturday we went kayaking... are you guys sick of kayaking yet? ... we're not!
They had never been and had a great time. I am really not sure why more people don't do this it is SO fun and relaxing!

We were able to get some great shots of the wild life

Look what jumped in our boat! We have no idea when this guy got in there...but he was not happy about it...

I love seeing birds taking off. Uber always makes noise so they do this a lot around us.
This is one goofy bird, it reminds me of the flamingo I think it gets its pink color the same way. It has a weird flat circle beak.

I'm very jealous of birds ability to fly, walk and swim...

Some kind of hawk. I am planning on picking up a bird book so we can start figuring out what some of these are. I want to get a laminated one that we can take out on the water with us....
Friday night we took them out to a Suns game
Uber was tormenting us all with the camera I put the above picture in because he said it makes him look fat... HAHA... Uber and his cousin look eerily alike (this picture is not a good example), I have to be really careful when he is here and make sure I look at their face because at a glance I will think he is Uber... They even have the same birthday 3 years apart... and we realized that all the injuries that Uber had growing up James also had...well James had a lot more then Uber... but he is a tad accident prone.

ANYWAY- there was a fireworks show at the end of the game. Which ended up being a VERY good show. It's definitely the closest I've ever sat to such a large production. I'm really getting into the whole baseball thing... I should probably start paying attention to the game though... I have more fun hanging out, people watching, visiting, and eating REALLY disgustingly good food.

Hopefully I will get around to crafting something... someday...

Maiden Voyage

So before Mum and Dad left we went kayak shopping. We're 'storing' their kayak until they get back to the states and can use it. Last weekend we took it out for the first time and it was a blast! It's a sit on top so it's a little different than the ones we had rented the week before, it's also shorter since this one can be used as a single or double kayak.
I have decided that this is the absolute best way to get to the beach! Yes it is even better then driving up and unloading you car right on the sand. Its so much fun to just load up the kayak and row for an hour or so and then stop on the beach somewhere for lunch.
As opposed to the week before the tide was coming in when we left the dock and out on our way back in-- WOW it is a lot harder when you are going against the current... and in this case the wind as well. We went South this time which doesn't get you to the beach as easily as going north.

This direction snakes you through the inlets out onto a river and then out into the ocean. It was a little crowded on the river. In the picture up above we are sitting at the mouth of the inlet and I am not really sure I want to go any farther, with all of the large boat traffic there are some pretty large wakes... and we have stuff in the boat we don't want to loose if it tips.
We ended up not heading out any farther (which meant no ocean) but instead rowed straight across the river to a very small island that was almost completely under the water (because of high tide) since there was no sand left we just plopped down in the shallow water to eat our picnic... which is usually what we do at the beach anyway so it wasn't a big deal!

This was the little bit of island left ...

We didn't stay out as long or go as far since it was twice the work... but it was alot of fun for the first trip!

Ubers so good he loads the kayak in and out of the truck with out my help...

Here's a few funny clips from our afternoon. Mum and Dad will appreciate them, though I think anyone would find them funny ... or maybe not... I laughed though. To give a little back ground the grass you see in the water is way above our head at low tide so Uber decided that since we could we should go straight though the middle of it instead of rowing around it normal people.

Hope you all had a good 4th! I will try and show you what we were up to tomorrow.

The Beach and Kayaking

Doesn't this make you want to grab a towel and a book? The perfect amount of cloud cover to keep it cool.
I just like Ubers face in this shot

A ship coming in the channel... it looks like it's running aground.

We sat a read magazines while the guys swam (floated) I censored for all of your sakes. (plus I am sure mum appreciates it!) This is the new umbrella we got I LOVE it! Umbrellas are definitely worth the money.

Saturday we tried out kayaking - I had never been. We went through the inlets out to the ocean... though not into the ocean. It was a total blast! Who knew?! I think it might actually count as exercising
See I am working hard!! ... this is how I like to kayak, the problem is he stops rowing when I do..what gives?
It was fun seeing all the different kinds of birds.

This is Jorge my pet crab that didn't want to leave after I caught him!

Herme... isn't he cute?

Uber giving a gooberish smile

I wanted to catch this one but ... I think I probably would have gotten hurt in the process so I didn't try... plus he was too fast.

Blogger is really ticking me off I cant get this picture to go to the end of the post this is the beach up in Amelia Island I just thought it was pretty... it's not supposed to be in the middle of kayaking... oh well I love all of the goofy bridges.

Posing for the camera

He is just so funny....

We totally dug kayaking. It was a blast having Mum and Dad out here and trying things we hadn't gotten to do before. I think this about wraps up their trip, at least the Florida part. I will show you some more crafting we accomplished though.
BTW I sold a onesie!! Woot!

Saint Augustine

Tuesday we went to Saint Augustine (we go here a lot with company... we've never been without company...now that I think about it) It's the nations oldest city. It's cute but unfortunately they have gone way over the deep end of kitschy with the shops they've allowed in and they don't let artists sell out in the squares... which is so ridiculously backwards and lame... anyway it's a very pretty town and there are good restaurants and I try to focus on that when we go.

A pirate ship

The fort... where it started raining on us... just like last time!
This is Flagler College

Me
I love having mom around to take pictures... I am lazy and she saw things I hadn't noticed before.

I really like this one

I never noticed the lions head way up there.
We drove out to the island to climb the light house but a storm was rolling in and they closed it. Bummer since apparently the view is gorgeous.
So I am still not done posting on the trip, but you guys said you wanted pictures. I am going to try and wrap it up soon, I have been ridiculously and randomly busy that I haven't had time to sit down. We found out we have company coming this weekend which I am TOTALLY excited about however I have A LOT of cleaning up to do because we were having too much fun to clean before.

Some crafting and an Etsy update

I finally posted some new things in the shop and I thought I would give you a peek here too. This is my newest growth folio with an owl theme (and MUSHROOMS!)... I am totally loving it. The owls were suggested by a friend who is interested in having a chart made, she was telling me how she is planning to decorate her daughters room (they are moving soon) and I loved the idea so I went ahead with it... and of course added a little more. Why didn't I think of doing owls sooner?! The chart is loosely based on the pottery barn kids Brooke bedding.
So while Mum was busy making me the skirt I was commissioned to decorate some onesies for Kara whose shower Mum missed because she was visiting me. I had such a blast with this I listed the designs in the shop.

This one by far is my favorite! I almost didn't let her take it ... but since I can make another I figured I would be nice!
This is ubers favorite and I also LOVE this one. They're barrel of monkeys!

A silhouette of a black-handed spider monkey...I know totally obvious right?

and lastly a rhino... wouldn't a very small one of these be SOOO cute as a house pet?
I just went and looked at all the onesies you guys made and they are SO cute... though I am confused by the octagon one?!? Anyone want to explain? What a lovely and thoughtful bunch of gifts! I love seeing baby showers with handmade items. The nursery is great!
