Why aren't weekends longer?

We had a lovely weekend. Micah got a nap in the hammock...  which is why he has the red mark on his cheek...he loves the thing
We went out for a ride with some of Ubers coworkers Sunday afternoon who just happen to be the nicest group!
And another garland is up in the shop

I'll be back tomorrow with a crafting project/mini tutorial.

My Day

I had an awesome birthday! Uber took the day off and we 'slept in' - not really Micah wanted to be up! So we loaded up the truck
and headed out for a bike ride to try out my new shoes and clips... I only fell over once... it kind of hurts but it was rather funny it's like slow motion as you tip over...especially since I wasn't moving.... My right clip was too tight so I couldn't get my foot out. Anyway there will be no scarring from this fall so whatever!
I thought you might be interested in seeing the trail. A lot of it is canopied it's really very pretty it goes for 14 miles and is all paved (it used to be train tracks) you pass all sorts of farm animals- though I didn't think to take pictures of them. It was gorgeous today but in the summer it will be too hot to ride.  We went about 10 miles - long enough to be fun but not to wear you out.
Micah enjoys it as long as his toys are reachable
Uber would rather be off road biking but he is nice enough to take this easy trail so that Micah and I can tag along! He tried taking Micah off the paved road last time and Micah is not into it! It was rather funny Micah protested until he was back on the paved road and then he settled back down.
Next we came home and cleaned up and headed to the beach. Not for a long time just long enough to relax and enjoy the view
This is the roof top deck of the Casa Marina Hotel it has gorgeous views.
Then we headed over to Mum and Dads where Uber made me a ridiculously awesome dinner. Beef Saltimboca, Roasted Potatoes, Salad... so yummy in fact I need to go make myself a plate of left overs! And there was cake! Chocolate with Espresso frosting Mum hooked it up!
It was such a fun day! Possibly my best birthday ever. Between Uber and Micah and quite a bit of my family being here. And my gifts were all together ridiculous. Is it rude to tell everyone all of the awesome stuff you received? I'm not sure so I'll hold off and maybe show you some of the awesomeness over the next few days as I get to use it!

Kicking off the fall festivities

Well I didn't expect to disappear that long! But that is usually the way it goes. Not much has been going on around here just a lot of half finished projects strewn about my half clean house. I just finished up working a 12 hour day... yes that's right I know you are all sooo jealous of that statement... wishing you could all be cool like me! Really I am exhausted and should be doing ten possibly twenty other things right now so please disregard anything that doesn't make sense in this post!

We officially hit the beginning of our ridiculously busy holiday season this weekend which came at the end of our ridiculously busy pre-holiday season which came after a ridiculously busy whole year so really I am not even sure why I started this sentence... moving on.

We got the bikes back out this weekend... no my leg still isn't healed from last time but we hit the trails with people who bike regularly and found out that our previous ride on the beginner trail (according to the map) was slightly misguided because it was in fact NOT the beginner trail... lets just say this weekends riding was a LOT more fun and a LOT less scary for me. So no real injuries occurred (Uber did hurt his knee but he is going to have to do a lot more then that to get pity in these parts) however we did get to witness some lovely projectile vomiting from one of the guys who came... seriously mad skills on his part I honestly didn't know that much fluid could be stored in a person. And I wasn't the only one amazed so you know it was good!

Sunday we went to ' The Dirty Bird Thanksgiving: A Fowl Affair" gathering that a friend and his room mates were putting on. Seriously is that not the cutest name ever?! It was a total blast. They dug a pit in the front yard of a cool old house that they all rent in San Marco and cooked up Turkey, Goose, Duck, Game Hens and Quail. And just to clarify a few points for you guys the roof tiles were extras and the landlords do not like them.... oh and yes he did burn some of the hair off his arms!

The meat was scrumptious - seriously I don't like turkey and this stuff rocked! Why do we even bother with ovens?
And just for fun this dog was right about the coolest thing he was better at ping pong then the rest of us! He REALLY wanted that orange ball!

I know most of you visit here for crafting items so I am sorry there hasn't been much of that to post I am not even going to bother saying it maybe coming soon... I figure you'll have better luck of seeing something if I don't make any promises!
I will probably be pretty sparse around here for the rest of the holiday season. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!

Because I love my husband

We went mountain biking this morning. This is the entrance to the path... I would say the widest the trail gets is a foot and the paths have cute names like Briar Patch...tell me you want to head into that in shorts!
It was a total blast. After an hour I was completely exhausted. And not a little torn up. I only fell twice... but twice was more then enough to do damage! I have lumps, bruises and scraps all over my legs and my right arm has a huge egg scrape that I am pretty sure will be blue tomorrow...
This is Uber in his helmet. He didn't damage himself today ... thanks to it! He totally hit his head on a low branch... I have no sympathy though.
These were taken in my favorite part of the ride... which was the short trek from the exit of the path back to the car... I told Uber I kept feeling like something was going to jump out at me after being on the trail... cement is just WAY too easy!
Here' s a picture of my calve.... I am very glad that it is winter and I will be wearing pants for a while... I have more pictures of just how messed up it really is ... but I think they are a little graphic for this site... so I am sparing you. It actually didn't hurt at all until Uber had to scrub the grease out of the cuts... let me just say if this ever happens to you don't try to stand up while someone inflicts that sort of pain on you... you get a little light headed... lol. I am really hoping it doesn't scar. I am going to have to make Uber a T-shirt that says 'I dig chicks with scars'.
Well I apparently still haven't gotten any crafting together to show you... it's going on... just very slowly. But I was told I needed to post something new (you know who you are). So here it is. YOU'RE WELCOME.
P.S. I made a scrumptious apple pie tonight... absolutely mouth watering ... I think I am going to have to have another piece!

I love weekends...

but then who doesn't?

We have had a lovely weekend. It's been in the 60's which has been AMAZING we have actually been able to put on sweaters!! Of course the sweaters have been over shorts and tank tops but we aren't complaining!!

Saturday morning (ish) we headed out to our local state park with our bikes. The original plan was to hit some of the off road trails but we got a short ways down the trail and a face plant each in (not bad or anything... well not for me at least -I caught myself!! ) and realized my bike for sure wasn't in that kind of shape. Pavement was fine but the tires and tubes need to be replaced before we hit up tree roots and the craziness going on back in the trail. Of course when we pulled a map on the way out of the park we found out we had inadvertently headed down the expert trail... needless to say we will be going back with new tires and be hitting the beginner trail! I have to say the little slice I got was a blast... Also Mum and Dad will be happy that the park requires helmets on the off road trails so Uber is going to have to purchase one now!!!Since the trails were out for the day we ended up touring the whole park from the roads. Which was great we had no idea there was so much additional stuff out there! Then we headed out to the beach that is also part of the park and got in a good 12 mile ride on the beach.

We didn't take the camera on the ride (unfortunately) because we had no where to carry it but here is us cleaning up after the ride. Dad they have a station there to hose off your bikes!

Then last night we had some of the guys over for football and brats. And I slipped in my first apple pie of the season. YUM! No pictures of course because they kind of devoured it!

I thought I would share these two pictures with you. These are the decorations from the baby shower which are now being used in the babies room. How fun is that?

Well I need to get busy crafting. It's been quiet around here but I have been working on some tutorials. One's being tested and the other one is driving me crazy!!!! Hopefully I will be wrapping them up soon and back to fun things I can show you.
