We spent tonight with the cable repair man trying to get our Internet and cable working.... apparently the evil cable auditors came by and put a blocker on our line... we aren't really sure why they would do this but it wiped out all of our service... and while uber was trying to figure out what was going on our modem died! So a new modem and a visit to remove the blocker and we are back up after having nothing all weekend... I had no idea how important the Internet is to me!

Last Weekend of Summer
We wanted to take advantage of our last official weekend of summer (haha OK so yeah that is funny) so we decided we should hit the water again for a little kayaking. There was a 50% chance of rain but as you can see we were fine. What wasn't fine though was the tide working against us both ways! We headed out right at the end of high tide... which was pretty cool the water was a solid 8 feet above low tide.
This is looking out to the ocean from the bridge. Usually what you see is a ton of grass and a windy river that you have to weave through to get out to the open water. Well when it's high tide you can practically shoot straight down the middle. We hit the ocean fast!
As we were rowing through some of the taller grass i was slightly freaked out by these black things on the grass. At first I was worried they were spiders because there were webs around
But when we slowed we saw they were crabs. There were TONS of them all through the grass.
There were some that were much larger but they were too fast to get a photo of.
I'm so glad they weren't spiders!
We finally made it out to our beach... but it was almost completely under water! And let me tell you this is a very large beach. The little land that was left above water was so saturated that you sunk a good 6 inches with ever step... not cool!
We had a very quick snack and then took off again since we were going to be fighting the tide on the trip back.
And of my goodness did we fight it! We were a little worried we weren't going to make it back. (not joking!) this next shot is grass that we had rowed over on the way out! Can you imagine fighting that much water flowing at you?
Another shot of the bridge on our way back you can see how much the water dropped and this was just 2 hours later.

A weekend of sewing... and inflicting unnecessary pain on myself...
Thanks for all of the organizer love! I am really stoked that you all liked it so much!
Here's the second Kitchen aide cover completed. Even though the outside is done out of the same fabric I think they both have a different feel to them since I didn't get quite the same cuts and it's not in the same order.
I think this one maybe my favorite out of the two...
Okay well I might like the brown polka dots more then the green ... but that is just because I have green walls in my kitchen so it's a little much with all of the green going on. This is a Moda print.
This is actually what I have been working on since Thursday night...
Covers for my extra table leafs and living room cabinet shelves. They turned out really well... they could of gone a little easier if i had just gotten a quarter yard more of the fabric (really really big ARGH considering I got the fabric for $4 a yard on sale : ( !!! ) But for working with the fabric I bought they turned out really great- the only down side is they are fitted and the leafs must go in the cover in a specific direction. Which actually isn't terrible I was just planning on them being more bulky and kind of what ever.

These will be up in the shop tomorrow... since I have run out of time to get them up tonight.
This is actually what I have been working on since Thursday night...
They are duck cloth on the outside and are lined with felt. Then there is industrial strength Velcro that keeps them closed. Which by the way how are you supposed to work with that stuff?? I tried to sew the Velcro on after ironing (which is something I have always done before) and the glue is SO STICKY that my machine couldn't sew it. And as I was seam ripping out the little bit of thread that did make it through the gunky stick mess the seam ripper broke and the broken metal part took a rather large chunk out of my thumb... Moo!! Anyway I am now in the market for a much sturdier seam ripper....
These things are slightly addictive I worked on them during the drive to and from Atlanta... they really eat up way more time then they should!! Still not sure what I am going to do with them... but I have some ideas.
Hope you all had a good rest of your weekend we finished up the last season of Dexter tonight and I really enjoyed it... though I cant watch too much of it at once (well not the ones when he is killing people) because I get bummed out... the death scenes are a little graphic...
I am nursing two very bruised knees right now we went out to eat at Five Guys (a burger joint) after church and I fell - it was so painful that I wasn't even embarrassed... Uber caught my head so it didn't hit the floor... which is good because my hands didn't have time to catch me since they were full with a drink I managed not to spill...why not spilling mattered more as I was falling then catching myself I don't know...I dont think I actually though I was going to fall though. The floors had greasy patches I guess... I thought I hit liquid but there was nothing there. I was surprised the staff didn't seem to care... we were there with people from Church though so I didn't want to be a problem... though one of the girls with us hit the same patch as I did luckily she was wearing flats... so anyway just thought I would share that lovely story with you if you managed to make it this far down in the post.

Where I've been... well kind of
We headed out to Atlanta this weekend to visit family and pick up my new dinning table *YEAH* we had a cold snap this last week see all of the treacherous ice on the car?? BRRR!!!
The family we went to see is Uber's cousin and wife. This is a cat who adopted them and I just had to show you it's face. love it!
On Sunday we went into downtown Atlanta and bummed around saw the CNN Center and did the World of Coke Tour. And if any coke representatives are scouring the Internet for mentions I would just like to let you know you really could have done better.
Here is Uber and his family... this is the only picture of them that I got (oops!) People think we all look alike.... we just don't really agree... though they are totally cute!
Here's the best part of this place. The BEAR oh my goodness I totally wanted to take this guy home. His face is animated so he could change his expression and blink. It was AWESOME. This is the best costume I have ever seen!!
The tasting room was a zoo. You could taste all 67 drinks produced by coca cola. Apparently some of them are just foul, though I took peoples word for it.
The Table -Thanks MUM!! I LOVE IT!! Though it is taking some getting used to since it is such a MAJOR change for the room. It's the tavern table from ZGalleries.
So now you've seen it!

Sorry I was napping...
I seem to be getting pretty good at the absence thing… my bad. I am actually really busy I just still cant show you anything. Isn't that frustrating? I hate reading that on other peoples blogs I always think well then why even talk about it! Well I guess it is because we want you to know we aren't sitting around letting our fingers get fat. I really WANT to show you this stuff though… which is making it all very hard.
Alright so anyway I did complete a pillow this weekend out of some tapestry fabric- I love this stuff. It's ridiculously priced for being from Joanns ($40/yard) so I only get it when I see a remnant… It's really not much just a comfortable throw pillow. I made it to fit a standard pillowcase because all the lumbar pillows are such retarded sizes and I didn't want to waste any of the fabric. I would just like to say that putting the zipper in was a royal pain in the butt…I am wishing the pillow was thicker the weight of the fabric seems to of squished it…(it seemed very poofy when I bought it!!!) I may have to buy a different one… This is the matching throw as well I did this sometime last year. Its just a 2 yard piece of the fabric and I added a border of micro-suede. I love that it is thin fabric but very heavy. perfect for a nap on the couch!
Whoa to the lateness that I am showing you here. I meant to post this ... well on the 31st. I made a bunch of these goody bags for Ubers coworkers. I cant wait until next year though because I found some really neat cookie cutters on sale at williams-sonoma that I cant wait to use... now I just have to remember I have them in a year!!
I will try to be here more often this week. Matt is not back in school : ( his class got canceled (GRRR) anyway he is currently in the garage ripping apart the ceiling to put in better lighting. This is a project of his own doing (I didn't assign it) and I think he is planning on getting it all nice for me! I will have to try to remember to take a kinda before picture... since he has already sawed into the ceiling!! I am so bad at getting those. Anyway I continue to be amazed by our builders ingenuity with wiring the house....
Moving on... I am so glad the election is basically over... though I really have nothing more to say about it all then that.
